Denis Owens is the Managing Director of Insight Investment Services and has been involved in the Australian Financial Services Industry for 23 years. Over these 23 years Denis has performed a number of roles including providing Financial Planning and Life Insurance to personal and business clients as a licensed Financial Adviser and Planner; Sales Management roles with Life Insurance Companies and before his present role Denis was Managing Director with a leading Australian Financial Services Licensed Company where he had ultimate responsibility for 24 staff and 300 licensed advisers and planners.

Glen Jolley

Glen has worked in the Financial Services Industry for 33 years. Glen joined Insight Investment Services Pty Ltd on 15th June 2004 as the Operations & Marketing Manager. Glen’s experience has been focused on managing and supporting self employed financial advisers and planners, helping them to grow their businesses. Glen has been a member of the Financial Planning Association since June 2000.

Michael Cowley

Michael Cowley has been in the Financial Services Industry since 1991. He specialises in Financial Planning Advice and Life Insurance. He currently serves on the Board of the Qld Cricketers Club at the Gabba, and is also on the Board of Alpha Kids Inc, a charity devoted solely to improving the quality of life for underprivileged children in Australia and overseas. Michael is CFP qualified.

Scott Prestwidge

Scott has over 14 years experience in the Financial Services Industry. Scott specialises in the Risk Management and Superannuation arena with a focus on working with clients to achieve their lifestyle goals. As a member of the prolific QLD Bulls, Scott was a prominent figure contributing to the most successful decade of cricket for QLD. His successful career as a first class cricketer has enabled him to develop a winning culture that encompasses a professional attitude and work ethic.

Vern Christensen

Vern has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 19 years. Vern joined Insight Investment Services Pty Ltd on 1st July 2004 as an authorised representative. Prior to this Vern was an authorised representative with Aon Financial Planning Limited. Vern has been providing life insurance advice and investment advice since joining AMP in 1985. Vern specialises in personal estate, and business succession planning.

Des Young

Des has worked in the Financial Services Industry since 1992 providing advice as an authorised representative of the Aon Group until July 2004, then moving to Insight Investment Services Pty Ltd. The focus in growing his business is his personal service to existing and new clients.

Andrew Ghea

Andrew started working in the financial services Industry in 1995 and has been providing Financial Planning advice as a proper authority holder since 1998. Initially working as an Associate Adviser and then Financial Planner as an Authorised Representative for MLC and Garvan Financial Planning until 2002, a Financial Planner as representative for ANZ Wealth Management until 2004 and then as a Financial Planner as representative for Suncorp Financial Services until June 2006. Andrew has extensive experience providing comprehensive planning advice.

Andrew joins Des Young in providing financial advice in Gladstone and is also an Associate Member of the Financial Planning Association.

Michael Coughlin

Michael Coughlin has been in the Financial Services industry since 1984, and has been providing Financial Planning advice as a Proper Authority holder since 2003. During his professional and business career Michael spent 6 years with the Australian Taxation Office in various audit investigation and advisory capacities. From 1979 to 1983 he was in partnership in a Public Accounting Practice, and from 1984 to date is the Director of the Brisbane based accountancy practice Coughlins Accountants and Business Consultants, previously known as Michael Coughlin & Company.

Stephen Lennon

Steve has over 20 years experience in the accounting profession. He works with a large cross section of clients on advisory issues such as business migration, tax minimisation strategies and business expansion planning for small to medium businesses. He also helps clients with business valuations, acquisitions and sales. Steve’s industry experience covers manufacturing, engineering and building and construction.

Mark Davies

Mark has an audit background from time spent in London and Sydney with international accountancy practices. His professional experience has ranged from auditing multinational companies to providing accounting and corporate advisory services to primary producers. He has attained an MBA specialising in the management of small to medium businesses and professional practices. Mark has also led the firm’s consulting services division based on a product called “Business Thinking Systems” (BTS) which provides business with the necessary skills in business development and management.

Mark subscribes to the Forensic Accounting Special Interest Group of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and has prepared a number of business valuations and loss of income calculations. Along with the Audit division, SuperSense, our superannuation consulting and administration division is headed up by Mark.

Jane Larkin

Jane Larkin has over 19 years experience in the Financial Services Industry with long associations with the ANZ and National Australia Banks. Jane specialises in the areas of Investments and Retirement & Superannuation Planning. Jane is situated in our Coffs Harbour office.

Ian Ovens

Ian has more than 15 years experience as a Financial Adviser specialising in wealth creation and risk management. He has 20 years experience in Corporate Banking with Citicorp, Standard Chartered and Colonial, both overseas and domestic.

Ian holds the relevant qualifications in Bachelor of Agricultural Economics, Master of Business Administration, Professional National Accountant of National Institute of Accountants, Australian Institute of Management and Certificate IV in Financial Planning.

Andrew has had over 8 years experience in the Financial Services industry working as a Financial Adviser for Westpac Financial Services, Bananacoast Community Credit Union and most recently with Financial Lifestyle Solutions. Andrew specialises in the area of Insurance.
